When Betsy first shared with me that she was looking for an artist to illustrate her children's book, my heart leapt and I knew this was an opportunity I could not pass up. As an English major, I have read the traditional canon of works and I was very impressed with her writing! Upon reading Seasons for the first time my mind was immediately filled with potential illustrations. As you read the book and look at the pictures, I hope you and your children are inspired to thoroughly enjoy each season as they come, drawing on past memories and planning new activities to revel in future seasons (family trip to the Christmas tree farm perhaps?!).
For one of the Autumn illustrations, some friends helped me collect fallen leaves during a walk through the woods for inspiration. (See the photo at the top of this blog!) Part of the art of enjoying life is to appreciate the season we are in, both naturally and spiritually. Take the time to really LOOK at the leaves and be inspired!
How will you celebrate this season of your life? What are you planning on doing for Thanksgiving? Share in the comments below and help inspire others to enjoy every season!
